Tuna Fishing : April 2010. We'd heard that the tuna were running down the coast of Sydney so we headed out for a days fishing on the open ocean. Brown's Mountain is an underwater sea mount that is about 40km offshore from the Heads. It rises beyond the continental shelf from a depth of about 1km to a peak of 430m. It's a natural congregation point, and you can find many species of game fish and pelagics apparently. The warm current had arrived and was hugging the coast a little offshore, so the tuna had (apparently) followed it. We saw plenty of dolphins and pilot whales and maybe humpbacks in the distance but the migrating pilot whales came right up to us. Beaaaaautiful. Did we catch any fish??? Click through to find out!

Southern Highlands : 2009 A memorable trip. I borrowed mum & dad's car only for the gear box to explode just outside of Mittagong! A very expensive repair. We had to hire a car. Can you believe that in the entire Southern Highlands region there is one single car available for hire from some dodgy industrial estate place out in the sticks. A beat up Ford Falcon, probably 1999. Luckily we got it otherwise we would have been screwed!
