This is the second tree I got after my fig. It's the first one I've ever bought. I've had it since 2005.

Here it is! It needs to be in a shallower pot because it's supposed to be a plant that thrives in drier conditions and at the moment it's getting too much water. I know this because there's moss and that's not a good sign with junipers

All I've done is pick off all the new spring growth (you do this once a year) and thinned out the foliage pads and cut the branches shorter. If you look at the lowest branch you can see I've cut it a lot shorter. This is because once a juniper branch gets too long it hardens at the base and nothing will ever grow out of it. You end up with needles at the end of the branch only. So I'm trying to prevent this by keeping the tree more compact.
